We killed a lobster...

It's been a while since we've updated, at least for 25 mans, and have downed a few hards' since. Thorim's [Heroic: Lose Your Illusion] proved to be quite a pushover; stand in the right places and hope Helbrimor doesn't stand in a lightning charge and you win.

XT-002's [Heroic: Heartbreaker] was actually a decent challenge pre-nerf, though dealing with his incessant screaming during tantrums was more of a trial than killing the actual boss. Pre-nerf I think it was the first boss I've seen hit an enrage timer since Brutallus.

[Heroic: Orbit-uary] was simple if you could get the encounter to work right. Bugged demolishers, instance randomly resetting, and people completely missing Flame Leviathan after being tossed directly at him accounted for a good 75% of our wipes before we actually managed to kill the stupid thing. Good choice on implementing vehicle fights, Blizzard.

And then there was Vezax [Heroic: I Love The Smell Of Saronite In The Morning]. The lobster puts up quite a struggle, but after a few nights of me typing angry racial slurs directed at failing raid members into the warlock channel, we finally took him down in an almost perfect final attempt (save for the frustrating absence of shadow-crashes in phase 1 and Congested holding hands with a life-leech victim all the way to his death. Grats to you on that.)

Algalon

One down, 3 to go

[Heroic: I Could Say That This Cache Was Rare] Tonight, the Fabled finally mastered something that has plagued us for an eternity; RNG. After two nights of work on Hodir, with the timer at 2:59, the bugger went down. It's fairly difficult to explain exactly how the encounter works, so I will break it down in the generic step-by-step format we all know and love for the better understanding of the general Warcraft population:

Step 1: Run in circles, attempting to find every buff possible
Step 2: Warlocks pull aggro, pray tank taunts
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Heart attack, and Algalon lootz (See also: Profit)

Yes, Algalon loots. We popped open his extra chest and to our (wonderful) surprise, [Constellus] lay lying in there, waiting to be basted with glorious amounts of DKP. Grats to Fluxuate, and lets wish him luck on his long and arduous journey out of the DKP hole he has dug himself into. We'll see you in Icecrown, buddy (if you're lucky).

Also, thanks to Bondok for the new screenshot, despite it not having guild names!

Deicide of the dread elder

Yogg-Saron has fallen to The Fabled! A long, hard fight with many factors, all eventually coming together for a kill. Great job everyone! With Ulduar regular modes now clear, the focus will be on the hard modes and the destruction of Algalon the Observer before the Omega signal is sent.

Yogg-Saron

Achievements: [Heroic: The Descent Into Madness], [Heroic: In His House He Waits Dreaming]

We had a feeling we'd get Yogg down with time to spare this week, so we left the Iron Council up to give us a chance at getting an [Archivum Data Disc], the first step on the quest line to access Algalon.

Spoilers!

Planetary Re-origination?!?!?!?!?!

Earlier in the week we also took down General Vezax who was no joke himself. Once again we forgot to take a screen of the kill, but I think this pretty much sums it up.

General Vezax (or equivalent)

Continuing the siege

After five hours listening to terrible jokes from a sleep-deprived raid leader and bashing our heads against a wildly flailing magic hurling robot, the bucket of bolts finally lay dead on the ground (right next to our tanks). Thanks to Stormfist (aka Mcgillicuddy) for DPS tanking that last ugly 5%. You sure do know how to make people scream in vent.

Bosses killed in this update: Iron Council, Auriaya, Freya, Ignis, Mimiron

Achievements: [Heroic: I Choose You, Stormcaller Brundir], [Heroic: The Siege Of Ulduar], [Heroic: The Antechamber Of Ulduar], [Heroic: The Keepers Of Ulduar], [Heroic: Hot Pocket]

Grats on an excellent raid week, and good luck shutting Sara up for good in the raid week to come. I'm much better than Usul at taking screen shots (Brainchild). Usul says: No you don't, they are much too far! It's an art form... you can't just flail in there. They aren't even centered around the players or environment! :cP

We killed Ignis last night as well. He's pretty much a sack of loot with tasty hot pockets.

Pics of other bosses to come when I get home! (Usul)
